BLACK ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

LEADING ~ TEACHING ~ EVOLVING

LEADERSHIP

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. Great leaders are often credited with possessing high social intelligence, a zest for change, and above all, the ability to set their sights on the things that truly merit attention. It is the responsibility of leaders to develop a vision for the people and institutions they guide. leadership does not depend on one’s title, seniority, or ability to exert power. Leaders can emerge at any level if they can cultivate a desire in those with whom they collaborate to strive toward a common goal. Which can be accomplished successfully through numerous types of approaches.  Leadership skills test consistently confirm the increasing importance of inner resources such as self-awareness and self-mastery. Tau Kappa Omicron Fraternity, Inc. teaches self discovery, by way of principles, values, character, and moral development.

EDUCATION

The United States of America sacrifices economic potential and global competitiveness when a large and integral part of its population is being left behind. Throughout the United States, local initiatives are trying to improve the economic well-being of African-Americans but the gaps in educational attainment, health care availability, business ownership, real estate/real property ownership, wealth building, financial security and economic opportunity are a huge factor. African Americans may be less likely to experience those challenges if they become educated, and involved participants in those aspects. Further evaluating smaller-scale initiatives that have shown promising results could provide policymakers with a playbook for policies to ensure all Black Minority Americans benefit from economic growth.

ALLIANCE

Using an economic empowerment alliance of racial/ethnic minority communities will allow the right for minority populations to determine their own destiny. In the USA, racial/ethnic minority populations are Blacks, Hispanics, Asians or Pacific Islanders, and American Indian/Alaska Native. Historically, racial/ethnic minorities have not been empowered. However, these minority groups have lacked unity. This is due to the separation of classifications. However, if there is an alliance amongst these ethnic groups their can be great opportunities for educational empowerment, economic empowerment and  financial empowerment. The Order of Tau Kappa Omicron Fraternity, Inc. wants to create this ALLIANCE. That is why we strive to "Unite the Elite Black Leaders of every community in order to build strong Black Economics."

DEVELOPMENT

Black capitalism came at a particularly  dangerous time, in the aftermath of so many civil-rights victories. The promises made by the government regarding the advancement of black economic security through black capitalism created just enough of a diversion to  ultimately halt the progress toward real economic equality,  development, power, and true freedom. It is highly important for our people to obtain self-sufficiency, independence, finance, and banking literacy. This is why The Order of Tau Kappa Omicron Fraternity, Inc. is dedicated to helping develop and promote job readiness, financial & credit education,  home ownership education, and the access to loans for minority business owners. We have band together in an effort of unity an agreement to invest in our future, the future of our race, ethnicity, culture and ancestry.
